Hello my name is Richard
Valentine. I am a Certified Master Dog Trainer. I have been training
dogs for over eighteen years. I first became interested in training
dogs at the age of twelve when my family adopted an untrained Fox
Terrier. Peppy was an older dog and about as wild as they come.
While he improved greatly, I always wished we had gotten him as a
pup and vowed if I ever had a dog of my own he would be well
trained. Years later, in 1986, when we got our first Labrador
Retriever, Mookie, I trained him myself. Mookie was a great dog and I soon
found myself training dogs for friends, neighbors and later, part time
nights and weekends. In 2003 I gave in to my love for dogs and
training. I decided to train dogs full time In 2004 I enrolled at the
Academy of Canine Education to further my knowledge of dogs. While there,
under the guidance of Anthony
Jerone, recognized as “New York’s
Greatest Dog Trainer”, I worked with dogs of all ages, breeds and
temperaments. I continue my education by attending seminars and workshops
and by extensive reading covering all phases of training and behavior.
I am a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and
the ASPCA My family includes two dogs,
Sandy and Wilson. I am also a volunteer at a nearby
shelter.
